Hiring

All enquiries regarding booking the Hall and fees contact the Booking Secretary on 01995 603625. Kirkland and Catterall Memorial Hall has a maximum capacity of 250.

Terms & Conditions
  1. The trustees reserve the right to cancel or change a booking if necessary and to refuse a booking without giving a specific reason.
  2. The trustees do not allow the Hall to be used for events that could cause disruption, disturbance or upset to local residents or disrupt the highway.
  3. The hirer can book the Hall by contacting the Booking secretary by telephone on 01995 603625
  4. The hirer is responsible for the supervision and care of the premises, its fabric and its content, and shall be responsible for any damage caused.
  5. The hirer will be responsible for the supervision and care of all occupants of the hall premises during the period of the hiring. The hirer will be responsible for supervising the behaviour of all persons using the premises, whatever their capacity including proper supervision of car-parking arrangements.
  6. It is the responsibility of the hirer to set up the Hall and to tidy up afterwards, DO NOT STICK ANY NOTICES TO THE WALLS and to leave the Hall as it was found. THE FLOOR IN THE BUTLER-COLE ROOM IS NOT TO BE WET MOPPED. ANY ADDITIONAL CLEANING NECESSARY WILL BE CHARGED TO THE HIRER.
  7. It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that they are fully conversant with the Fire & Evacuation procedures of the hall prior to the commencement of the event.
  8. The hirer shall not use or allow the premises to be used for any unlawful purpose or in any unlawful way. They shall not do, or bring onto the premises anything, which may endanger the premises or render invalid any insurance policies relating to the premises. Any activities involving heat that are undertaken by Hall users should be risk assessed by them and remain their responsibility.
  9. Hall users are responsible for ensuring that all electrical equipment introduced by them into the Hall is PAT tested. The hirer shall ensure that any electrical appliances brought into the Hall are used in an appropriate manner.
  10. The hirer shall ensure that nothing is done on or, in relation to, the Hall in contravention of the law relating to gaming, betting and lotteries.
  11. The hirer shall comply with all conditions and regulations made in respect of the Hall by the Fire Authority, Local Authority, and Local Magistrates Court or otherwise, particularly in connection with any event which includes public dancing or music or other similar public entertainment or stage plays. The Hall does not have an alcohol licence and any hirer wishing to sell alcohol must apply for the appropriate licence.
  12. The hirer must, if preparing, serving or selling food, observe all relevant food health and hygiene legislation and regulations.
  13. The hirer shall indemnify the hall for the cost of repair, of any damage done, to any part of the Hall, or the contents of the Hall, which may occur as a result of the hiring.
  14. The hirer shall report all accidents occurring in the Memorial Hall or adjoining field in the Accident book and to the booking secretary within 48 hours of the occurrence.
  15. In the event of the Hall or any part thereof being rendered unfit for the use for which it has been hired, the Committee shall not be liable to the hirer for any resulting loss or damage whatsoever.

The booking of the Hall by the Hirer indicates acceptance of all of the above conditions.
